OUTFIT: Duster Coat in Autumn

Brr. And there it is: Autumn. Summer, it was a short pleasure and also, you weren't really a reliable friend or being there for me, when I felt like wearing only a dress or shorts and a shirt. Well, however, I always preferred Autumn anyway since you´re just prepared for wearing trenchcoats and can finally hide weird feet again in trainers and boots. What am I doing with my life at the moment? It seems that blogging on a regular base is the only thing, but I started to get involved with helping at the refugee centers in Berlin and honestly, I am ashamed that I did not start way earlier, for example, when I first heard about the issues. It contains carrying tons of boxes with clothes, handing out food and water, helping out with "listening" to the people, even when their language is not yours. Since I refreshed my russian, I even can translate for the few people who need help with that language (still not able to speak any of the more important arabian languages). Still, I am not satisfied with only that but hope to find even more friends who wants to join, instead of only talking about it.

You might have been seeing those on Pinterest, Instagram and so on for a while. You can purchase attachable Fringes for your Shoes in all kinds of colors and textures for 35$ - or just make them yourself. They are pretty easy to make and hide the dirtiness of your shoes within seconds! Wanna know how? Read all the easy instructions below :)

choose your fabric - some people would prefer something similar like the texture of the shoes they will be attached at. I prefer artificial leather in pastel-colors since its more waterproof than real leather and looks like candy.. haha. also, you need a cutter, a hot-glue gun and a pencil.
ATTENTION: I have a size 39, so you better measure your own shoes for a perfect fit! to cover the laces I need 7cm, for the back piece I add 3 more cm, which will be folded backwards in the final step. the visible part will be divided in 5-6 Fringes. But only around the half of the visible piece of leather, otherwise they will fall apart or look too loose. So, for me: 10cm piece of leather in total, 3cm on the back and 7cm on the front: 4cm will be cut in five 1cm - Tassels and the rest stays as it is.
10cm leather
7cm front - 3cm back
4 cm tassels lenght
1cm tassel width
You make 4 of them in total and always glue two pieces of them together. That will make them more solid. Afterwards you flip the backside and put a little bit of glue on the back, as well as on every tassel, so they won't slip away and add two little holes on each fringe for your shoe-laces. Try to measure them carefully, so they fit perfectly, not as mine :D and last but not least: Show me your pictures! have fun and tell me in the comments if its easy to understand. or even possible.

The last summer outfit happens to be my favorite one this year. Maybe even my all time favorite - Again, Culottes (as a jumpsuit, even better), Navy, Favorite Bag from Carven and Sneakers. Well that one was easy, but already felt a bit too cold for the ending summer - however, I will try to layer every single favorite piece in some other ways, like with a tight turtleneck below or with a blouse - if you have any Ideas, feel free to share. As you might have realized already, I do not really own many accessories - although the watch on my wrist is new! An *all black Cluse watch which was fine enough to fit on my tiny wrist. So, now I am off to see a friend, who planned to spend her off-day with me volunteering at the refugee centre! Enjoy the lovely Pictures Ana took for me again and see you soon :)

It took me months to look at those pictures. Although it was a magical trip, I was deeply depressed when I traveled those islands in April - no wonder, since I always manage to pick out the biggest human fail out of 100 people to become my close friend, thanks to my poor knowledge of human nature. Being pretty much on my own with the camera, I could not help but overthinking everything that happened in the recent time. Before I left my place for three weeks, I knew I would only have a backpack with my stuff, connecting me with home and a whole lot of weight on my shoulders. Writing diary, sketching thoughts and taking pictures of the nature was not really the relief that I hoped for. Instead, I realized what I don't want to have in my life anymore and became more cautious about new people I met, after I returned from the islands. You see, its hard to describe the feelings I had, when I was there, on my own. But I searched for some pictures who can maybe describe the time better than words, between storm and the calm, only little color but so much structure and plenty levels of change in-between itself. Enjoy -

Looking at those blue windows, white walls and clean floors, I realize, I should go there more often. The Bauhaus Archiv in Berlin is the perfect place to shoot and Juule and me really enjoyed strolling around, besides of the nice people that usually walk around there. On Tuesdays, you are pretty much alone there and have the whole space to explore. I really struggle to find some nice spots in Berlin btw, since I usually want to connect Outfit shoots with nice locations to spend some quality time there. The previous Outfitpost for example was shot at one of the University of Arts buildings, which is just beyond perfect (and of course, I only have classes in the boring buildings) But if I should ever run out of locations, I will just use my good old wall again - The Turtleneck dress on the pictures is one of my favorite summer dresses btw - straight and easy cut, with a flattering neckline and not too short. Clean and simple and so easy to wear, I got it from Asos a while ago - this Kimono from Missguided is a longtime fav, since I got it last year. It is sold out, unfortunately :( Still, its so easy to style a khaki jacket with a shift dress and as long as you keep it easy and you feel comfortable, nothing can go wrong :)

INTERIOR: keeping Succulents healthy and increase them

Succulents, the Avocado of the plant world, as popular as Oprah but more decorative. Actually, the are pretty sensitive, which I didn't know. I always thought they are easy roommates, but they're not. Keeping succulents alive is an art, I always wondered how I managed to kill them each few months, but were getting to the point, when I manage to realize they can also survive, when following a few rules:
1) use cactus soil

Since they won’t survive in sand or rock and usual soil gets moist too easy, you should get some special cactus potting soil. Sometimes you already buy them like this, but most of the time the pots are too small or they use cheap soil and repotting gets important.

2) sunlight

Basically, everything that is alive needs sunlight, plants included, the only thing that varies is the amount of it - Succulents are flexible when it comes to seasons, but they won’t do well in absolute darkness nor in direct sun. Moving the succulent in and out of reasonable levels of sunlight will help it thrive.
3) drowning, cause of death nr.1

My favorite problem is to worry about the fact if they might be thirsty or not. And they are definitely not as thirsty as I thought.. you have to watch them, because there is no golden rule to water them correctly - Since the climate in my flat (ground floor problems) is usually coldish and dark, the air is pretty dry and I should not do it more than once per month. Water only when the soil has completely dried from the previous watering. Allowing the water to drain completely through the soil is the best way to avoid root rot, misting bottles are a nice way of watering.

4) feed them with calcium

I used to think that “plant food” was just a marketing ploy. It’s not. Since these plants aren’t growing in their natural habitats, they can’t absorb the nutrients (e.g., calcium) that they naturally need. Cactus/succulent food is cheap and will last a long time; you only need one drop for every gallon of water.

5) open your window

Seeing those nice glas Planters from Urban Outfitters, and those Terrariums, I already know they won't live for too long, even succulents need air.

6) only a big pot is a good pot

Little succus can look so cute in their egg-shell sized pots, but they’ll grow bigger, if they stay there. Some succulents can grow to be over ten feet tall, while others will comfortably grow within a foot or two, repotting them in bigger pots will help them to survive for a long time, instead of forcing the roots in a tiny pot.
7) Potting and increasing!

This is the fun part - repotting the buds - since you really are a pro now, you can start increasing your collection by repotting them correctly and potting their little buds. Some Succulents tend to get plenty of buds and with some you can just pick out some leaves and repotting those. HERE you can find a really good way to repot them correctly, I am currently about to raise a killer army of succus and they definitely will take over the world.

BE PREPARED.

Last year during this time, we had those amazing temperatures, autumn lights every poem is telling you about and barely any rain. An indian summer - like in the books, when you feel like going out and collect leaves, sit outside with your favorite novel or get this weird pumpkin whatever drink from starbucks, which does not represent the taste of autumn in any way. But not this year. It came over us  as unexpected as a car crash, one day we had a regular summer and the day after it was just cold and wet and dark. I don't mind the cold, but the darkness and the clouds are a bummer, especially for my mood, I mean - did you read how angry I am with that starbucks drink? It didn't do me any harm, so this bad mood is caused by total darkness. Anyway, to pretend its indian summer, I post that one. My sister shot that outfit on a coldish summer day, which basically counts as indian summer (minus the amazing light) I hope you guys already changed your wardrobes to cozy sweaters and I will put away my signature culottes and sleeveless duster for now.

FOOD: Easy Cooking to impress/ Baked Camembert

you cannot really cook but you want to impress your friends, partners, parents with some seriously delicious vegetarian killer dish? We can do this. I made this one yesterday for me and my boyfriends (who doesn't want to be called bae at that point.) I could literally eat another one right now. It was very easy! All you need is:
1x Camenbert
1 x roll of raw puff pastry
2 x onions
125gr Babytomatoes
100gr Walnuts
3 x figs
250gr rocket

cut the camembert in two and fry it for 2 Minutes before putting the onions, some walnuts, salt and pepper in it. Then fry it another 5 minutes on the lowest heat. Prepare two pieces of puff pastry for them and wrap it around them and let it cool for a while.
tomatoes, rest of the walnuts and the rest of the onions will be fried on low heat and add two spoons of balsamic vinegar, cut the figs in slices and let it all soak the vinegar for 10 minutes on the lowest heat. In the meantime you could wash the rocket - and then bake the camenbert. thats it. so easy:
wow. Enjoy!

Not much to say yet, but I started a new job a week ago and I like it a lot! I basically do what I did  before (that social media thing) but this time its for a really good cause and that just makes sense to me. I am sitting in the prettiest Co-working space with some really amazing people and we learn a lot from each other. That was something I really missed in my last job, where everyone was just doing their own business without really taking care of each other. But its different here and I am happy (: This is btw a working outfit. I don't really mind dressing up a bit, as long as its comfy and sporty. This Vest is the clue: It adds some chic vibes to every outfit and layering is what I like about autumn.  BTW: Thank you all as always for your comments. I enjoy reading your feedback and am always happy to visit your blogs as well :) keep up your good work! Find all the outfit details below:

If you want to experience tasty food, great coffee, a wonderful location and friendly service, visit ORA. When it comes to service, its pretty easy to upset me, since I love to take things personally, but honestly, I barely ever meet such sweet and lovely people as in this wonderful place. I have been there for three times, once with Marie (who was a great company, as well), and would come back every day, if I had the money. Or lived close by, well I am not sure what to review first, but I´ll start with the cinnamon rolls: they were everything. then the homemade bread with curry-raisin cheese: not as great as the cinnamon rolls, but since they were everything, its hard to handle that. The Bread was really fresh and soft and warm and I want it right now, though I type this post at 00:12.. Ok, so I should go to bed now and you should take the next train or plane to Berlin and have the best breakfast of your life at ORA. See you there!

Just a tiny new in post, before we leave for the berlin food week :) this Eames-inspired chair is so comfy and was pretty cheap with 30€, you can get it at superestudio. Also, I "accidentally" got a Jumper from the UNIQLO x Lemaire Collection. Wonder how that happened, as they released the collection, there were 100 People waiting in front of the store, running inside like crazy and pushing each other. I mean, I get it, wool is pretty amazing and soft. But honestly, its just clothing and I wouldn't recommend to push someone just because you want a piece of Lemaire. Its bad karma and the softness of cashmere won't help you with that. Anyway, I found this jumper in a corner on the floor and picked it up. A nice piece. Also new: ASOS Grid Scarf and all black Cluse watch.

This week was pretty special to me. I met one "new" person, who hopefully will be my friend soon (this sounds kinda creepy, sorry Storm). You can visit her lovely blog The Adorable Two - its beautifully minimalistic yet chic as hell and the two sisters behind it deliver some really nice content. Also, I survived a whole week with my boyfriend living at my place. This is quite a milestone in my life, haha. (He actually took those pictures so I better be grateful now.) He constantly asks me about my grid scarf, which gives me the same feeling as talking to my parents about new clothes - do you know what I mean? They keep telling you that you don't need certain things, but in fact, the grid pattern adds the little something to my outfit. Btw, here is the Uniqlo x Lemaire sweater in action, its super comfy, yet hard to layer, since the fit is wider than I thought. The batwing sleeves plus the cropped shape makes it possible to wear in as a scarf, as well. Well, so I hope you like those, have a happy Monday :)

First, First: I never actually ate Bibimbap before, nor did I know what that even was. SO: You´re getting a tip from a total Bibimbap-beginner. To explain: This Bowls consist of rice, then they put an egg on top and in-between the choices have an open-end: kimchi, other asian food stuff which names I cannot pronounce and noodles, veggies, yummie. My Boyfriend didn't liked it too much, he also wouldn't get as impressed by interior like me. So if you just want a really good looking place to eat out for lunch around Moritzplatz in Berlin, you might give PACIFICO a try. I also liked my SEOUL Bowl a lot, Bae did just not choose the right dish I guess. The Prices are around 5,90 without toppings (Meat), so you definitely will not be hungry after one Bowl. I will definitely come back again.

This is me, baking in the kitchen at work,  because my oven decided to be broken, now that its finally winter. Great! I don't feel like eating warm food anyway, when its so cold outside. (Of course I do. I miss Lasagne..) Well, C´est la vie - and since today, on the 11th of October is international Granny Day, we should find an oven and bake for the one who usually bakes for us. My Grandma used to make "Pelmeni" which is not a cookie, but made of dough - its stuffed with strawberries or marmalade and one of the best things you can eat in east-europen countries to satisfy your sweet tooth. She used to make them on special occasions only, which means friday, sunday and sometimes on wednesdays, haha - I love the fact that the stereotype, that grannies always over-feed their grandchildren works out in nearly every family. But food is not the only thing they give us. They are have this warmth and caring way and if they hug, they hug you with all their heart. This is why we should keep in mind that its granny day. Call them, you might haven't done that for a while (like me) - or just surprise them with a visit, with cookies or flowers, because they deserve it. Happy Granny Day!

When Autumn was more like a coldish summer and we had an acceptable sunny weather, I was okay with wearing shorts outside (with tights, of course) - one week later the sunny weather turned into pretentious ice-cold air and I am not even in the mood for any color anymore. Looking at those pictures, waterfall trenchcoats and off-white makes me miss the more "fun" season to style outfits. This sweater has an amazing asymmetric cut and a nice texture, which is great when you don't really like jewelry and accessory too much. I had the deep urge to wear those abstract-dotted shorts, since I did not wear them as often as I wanted to wear them, since I really live the dotted pattern. This week will be pretty busy btw, I work at Kiron, a University which gives refugees access to higher education without documents and for free. We will launch our first semester in three days and are really working high speed to raise attention for the crowdfunding campaign and try to improve the system before we finally start the first courses. If you want to learn more about it, feel free to visit the website or just ask me. I am not too sure if you even want to hear about it, so just drop some feedback :)

this is it, the working space I´ve been literally waiting for my entire life. Not even a joke, but from ordering the table to finally receiving it 10 weeks passed. This was quite a long time without a table, or lets say, a working space which was not my bed and one of those IKEA Laptopstands that get hot very quickly. However, this is it, the perfect table ( I did not decide yet in which color I want to spray the legs, because silver is not my color. I really like the constellation of the chairs with the table and the simple plant. Also, my painting finally found its place. I cannot wait to do some home office, now that its all set up and looks clean and well curated.

Ehehehe - this is the weird noise I make when I laugh. God bless my mother for teaching me to never be ashamed of my grunting laughers, echoing through the city and predicting the world to end. Ok, its not that bad. It helps me to breath and is good for the abs. Those pictures honestly make me really happy. Not only because Bae (who hates this nickname more and more) is developing some serious photography skills, but also because they remind me of a busy but beautiful day, when a great german politician hold a speech at work and everyone was happy because there were free drinks and food. This Outfit just should have combined sporty casualness of a long day that will never end (while its raining.) and a wood wood silk shirt, which looks okay when having a free drink with important people (who don't even recognize you're standing next to them)
Ah, and as usual: I still wear the same Dr. Denim Plenty Jeans, Puma Baskets and that Carin Wester Bomber that I got in Spring. I love wearing favorite Things.

I´ve never been the Event Type of girl. Awkwarding in a corner and eating the sweets from the buffet, with no self-respect while putting a macaron in my pocket and drinking alcoholic drinks before 2 p.m. But Storm (Adorabletwo) took me out on that Saturday and honestly, who can say no to a sea of flowers? Or to Storm. Well, I couldn't. Also, what is better than meeting some great people and having an-allround good smell in your nose, while getting more and more of those amazing red smoothies and talking to the bartender about tupperware, that I should have taken with me? See? Nothing. Btw, I met Veronique of Verniquesophie.com and Laura of Designdschungel. Both of their Blogs are beautiful, so go for a visit!
BTW: I vote for more brotherhood in the blogosphere. why not linking people you´ve met and had a nice talk with? I mean, look at Storm, who looks great while listening to me. haha, my face :D

SUNDAY THOUGHTS: No Links for Charity?

Also ich blogge beides.

Dear Peops, I am pretty happy that you were quite interested in the refugee problematic here in Germany. Yesterdays Blogpost might be already forgotten, but I still can't get out of my mind how many bloggers see their job as a solo-project, where they wouldn't support other Bloggers as well as social organizations (for free) - I clearly remember a time when bloggers just introduced blogs they liked or designers they discovered - times when a blogpost wasn't necessarily sponsored or each piece of an outfit was marked with "*" - and brand-new and really "special". I should start this one again. Whenever you feel like I should see your/or a friends/or a favorite blog, I will take that time and introduce them on Tuesdays! What do you think? Shall we start a new sisterhood of Bloggers and just push the ones who deserve it? This outfit was shot by talented Storm - it took about 2 Minutes and they turned out pretty well. This is a collaboration I like - It felt just really natural to take pictures together and I am grateful for each of those nice photos. Probably I should start my blogportraits with her blog tomorrow! Leave input for more blogs in the comment box :)
