OUTFIT: Easy travel look

0
0

This casual travel look came straight from Barcelona and since I am just back from Madrid, I felt like this is the right moment to post it. I am about to spent a whole weekend back at the University and will keep on wearing those Culottes. I love the feeling of wearing your comfiest outfit while being dressed up just enough. For the last four days in Spain, I packed a backpack only. My capsule wardrobe consist currently of way too many Culottes, but seems to be a better choice than Hotpants to me. I am not sure when that happened, but I stopped "showing off" my legs- maybe it has something to do with my full body tattoo and all the comments I get on this. Maybe its time for a Tattoo Post?

FOOD: Revisited House of Small Wonder

I revisited this Berlin Treasure and was surprised that it just got more expensive... the Matcha Cappuccino costs now 4,50€ and the french breakfast also went up like 1,50€. However, Restaurant Brunch must stay a treat and so I will talk now about the taste: It is one of my favorite Miso Soups in Town - and I am a sucker for Miso Soups in Berlin. The Japanese Breakfast will stay my favorite. Even if the Miso Soup is not included anymore and must be purchased extra (2,50€ I guess) Wow, I talked about the price again. I really suck at writing about food. So lets stop it here: If you have plenty of time or a reservation and a taste for special Brunch in Berlin and beautiful locations, visit The House of Small Wonder. If you don't have much time, come over on a Tuesday at 11h or from 15h, when the restaurant is less crowded. A big Minus: The Service is always busy and (maybe just my experience) not that friendly. A plus: Location and Food.

Just back from Madrid I spent my Sunday (after Uni, don't ask) On my Laptop, editing all the pictures I took. The trip was divided in two parts: one part consisted of an Adventure with Ford Vignale, and the other one was me, wandering around by myself and exploring the city in my remaining 48 hours. I made the mistake to go to Zara, because I threw an eye on these Espadrilles you can see on my feet. Why a mistake? Because asking for a size 6 took me 30 Minutes, no one spoke english. writing down the size I needed helped. But still I was surprised that english seemed to be not that common. However - I will tell you about Madrid in this weeks Travel Special. For now lets focus on those lace up Espadrilles - and what a colorful outfit I wore. (german text below)

Travel: Casa Decor with Ford Vignale

MerkenMerken Casa Decor in Madrid was one of my major inspirational experiences so far. I have, to be honest, never seen something like this. Of course, you know all those very chic interior inspirations from pinterest or magazines- but do they really exist somewhere? Yes, they do. But normally I don't have access to the homes of rich people. In Casa Decor, I indeed had the access. And the Guides. Being led through the rooms (I don't really know but I guess it was about 40 Rooms) together with the media crew from all over Europe, we had an experience I can't even put in words. To see how design comes together to build a never ending symbiosis is amazing - Details over details and stitch over stitch the Casa Decor combines it all: the process, the space and the vision. My Favorite Rooms were by Beatriz Silveira - a light and airy space with special pieces that
It took me some time, but the connection between Ford Vignale and the Casa Decor was pretty clear then: If you want to translate designs from the past in a contemporary space, you need to be creative. We don't want to see another vintage knock off, but a unique combination of elements, that correspond. This will be the first of my Madrid Posts, after the Workshop, I took the chance to spent some more days in Madrid by myself.

I sincerely want to thank Ford for the invitation - I am inspired and happy to have the chance to meet such great people, have talks and see a new place.

Food: Saigon Com Nieu in Berlin

Bülowstraße 9, 10783 Berlin

Saigon Com Nieu is one of the secret Spots with amazing asian food, you wouldn't really consider to go inside if you wouldn't know what expects you. This typical asian restaurant has every chlichee inside: An Aquarium, kinda Orange walls, paperlamps, and of course, fortune cookies. But by the first look at the menu, (and Alice who told me what to try) you will get a few minutes later a big surprise in form of an authentic, big dish that tastes amazing and did not cost much. I highly recommend the Vietnamese Pancakes filled with mushrooms, which you pull into pieces and roll up in salad with fresh herbs and dip in souce - 5€, amazing and tasty! Alice had a hotpot and with meat in it, which looked great as well. I have been there three times by now and will definitely take everyone who visits me in Berlin to that place. If you ever have the chance to go to that restaurant and you have a thing for asian food, visit them AND: Enjoy.MerkenMerken

And off again! This time: The turkish Riviera and Antalya. I have missed the seaside, though its been only a bit more than a month since Barcelona. I always enjoy sitting at the Beach or jumping in the cold salty water. I already have my swimsuits together and just need the right coverage. In Madrid I realized that my skin is not ok with being exposed to the sun and I definitely will stay covered. Thats why I still need some natural Fabrics such as denim and linen to get ready for Turkey in two weeks. What I try not to do at the moment: focus on the Bachelor Thesis. I am even thinking about extending my studies for half a year to relax this summer. To be honest, I am not that career thirsty type of person. I just want to enjoy doing what I love and at the moment, I see traveling more than having a 9 to 5 job or a Masters Degree. However, lets see if I can combine both. If not: traveling and jobbing  will be my first choice for now.

Those pictures are a premiere to me. For some woman wearing no foundation comes naturally - for me it doesn't. Not being gifted with poreless skin, I often put on some BB Cream (at least) but since I am done with the contraceptive pill I went through a million bad skin phases. For now I am fine, those pictures are taken without any foundation (I didn't say I did not cover the circles under my eyes) - but that bare-faced feeling was incredible. I felt ashamed for my acne for a long time and even during my studies I was not the one with the beautiful skin, not to mention that it wasn't even "ok" to a level of going make-up less. If anybody is up for a skin update (after the pill) I am open for any kind of before - after pictures. I am pretty much done with hiding and think we should all be more open with our skin stories, there is nothing to be really ashamed of (besides infertile reactions)

Liebes,

Also steht da: Social Media Management.
Also habe ich mich vom "soll" getrennt.

Also dann doch lieber Berlin.

2) Was tust du da? - Bloggerposen 2009

To start with the most important things: its #WorldRefugeeDay ! The 20th of June is annually the day that the UN calls out to remember the human beings who are affected by the war in their countries. The hard facts about the current refugee situation are shocking: This year, we have more than 65 Million refugees. This Number means, that every 113st Person is currently fleeing. Since the Convention of 1951 includes many rights, I want to highlight one, which is significantly important to me: education. Working for Kiron Open Higher Education, its been present in my life and I want to ask all of you today to head over to the UN Site, to get some information and to decide how you want to get involved.
Now the less important thing: I am currently trying to fix this bachelor thesis, which is not too hard because the weather in Germany isn't exactly what I would call nice. This outfit was a bit risky because it shows off a lot of legs, which I haven't done in a while. I hope the marble print of the good old wood wood blouse distracts the people. I usually go with monochrome these days, keeping it simple and airy. You may have recognized my favorite espadrilles for the third time by now, I will definitely take them with me this thursday, when I am off for my next trip.

Travel: Antalya / Side Countryside and Üzümdere Milli Parkı

Lets go on a Roadtrip through Antalya - get in a Jeep and we will see the Backcountry. The Taurus valley is full of sea caves, with a river, lakes and endless streets. The rocks of the chalky white cliffs blend you as you drive to your next destinations. Countless Views will follow you all the way up to the cave, that you can visit with a small boat, you might see turtles, for sure some goats and if you're lucky, wild horses. To be precise, the following Route was ours:
Starting in Side, a small part of Antalya by the sea, we went in the direction of Manavgat, to have an amazing view on the sea Eumapinar. (height: 1,300m) We kept on driving to Ormana valley (North East) with a short stop in Ürünlü, a Village where we got some traditional tea. Further in the direction of the Üzümdere Milli Parkı, we crossed a sea cave, in the middle of a mountain. You were able to see all the layers of differently textured rocks, the red ones for iron filled minerals, the white ones are chalky. Thousands of years in nature, and it seems that breaking it only took a glimpse. We made the Taurus valley tour with Vianoblis, you can find the route on their website. If you are able to drive a car, I highly recommend you to do the tour yourself (I don't have a drivers license). Rent a car, pack your camera and go for it. Otherwise enjoy your guided tour, they know their area the best. (german below)

I thought about a long time if I should write this or not. Would you still go to turkey, even now, after all this? - I would. And I don't think terrorism is a joke or doesn't exist. It was the second time that I was a place and just shortly after there was an attack. But I live in Berlin, which is a capital city, very close to all political happenings. Its not that it couldn't happen here as well. I consider traveling as one of the greatest gifts that you could get in your life. The freedom of switching places, exploring landscapes and cultures means more to me than the non-existent construct of "security" which doesn't existed at any point of my life. The country where I am from is in a civil war, the media even wouldn't cover - still I will go there. The city I live in is full of refugees and I am happy about that. There is no such thing for me as constant fear. Only disappointment, that one beautiful country like turkey must suffer under those circumstances. Thats Why I decided to still write about my trip to Antalya and Side. Because I fell in love with everything there and nobody can take this away from me. Thats why I will start with the stay: Barut Hotel Acanthus & Cennet in Side, the eastern part of Antalya.  Read the full review below:

The Room was a suite on the fourth floor - with a jacuzzi on the balcony (I know, a bit over the top for me) But the room was just so beautifully chic and with a love for details decorated. You could tell that the netflix on the tv should give you the feeling of home haha. The Bathroom has 2 Mirrors, a rain shower and a big shelf for the clothes, so you won't see your stuff lying around in your room.
Acanthus means Paradise in turkish and it really illustrates the place. When I came in to the room, the first thing was pretty close to running on the balcony and scream "I am the queen of the world" - but instead, I decided to make a video with my phone to make my friends jealous. And they were. I also robbed the fresh fruits which were on a plate right next to the entry. The suite is big, amazingly beautiful and fresh and has everything I needed +the View was amazing:

The Food situation at the Cennet & Acanthus

Most important: The Food. The thing I enjoyed first was the plate full of fresh fruits in my room. But I hadn't seen the buffet at that point. A wide range of local and international delicious dishes were prepared and waited there, good looking in the restaurant. There were 2 Restaurants, one Bar and another little Coffee Shop in the Hotel, offering pastries from macaroons to ice cream. Again, I am overwhelmed by the freshness of the fruits and vegetables. I enjoyed around 2 whole watermelons in 3 days, thats how many of the slices I ate. Also if you're a fan of traditional ottoman kitchen, you will enjoy the buffet. Its all included to the price of the room (even the little coffee shop) and you will definitely enjoy the friendly service, the well curated restaurants and the beautiful view (the sea or the poolside, if you want)

40 Degrees outside - what would you do?

The Poolside and the Sea: A hard decision, to be honest. My first real action in turkey was of course to go to the beach which is right infront of the hotel. If you can see the sea, dive in! The water was warm, the sand just perfectly soft and tender between my toes. I am used to the rocky beaches of Portugal and love them just as much as the sandy perfection. But an infinity pool is worth the try. The water does not contain as much chlorine as I am used to it, so its a good experience. If you still prefer the seaside, the hotel offers you a great service at the beach as well.

The well curated Decor of the Barut Hotel

The Interior at the Barut Hotel was somewhere between elegant minimalism and clean scandinavian elements. The marble is a traditional material and the Taurus Valley is full of it. Black and white Marble will cross your way to the spa and also the floors are made of the decadent material. The interior was a great inspiration and if you like material mixtures, I can really recommend to keep your eyes open wherever you go.

Well, secretly I call that one the diaper dress. Because it looks like I am wearing one underneath my dress from behind haha :D However, this is the only look shoot-worthy form my stay in Antalya. After I arrived there (very stuffed with good airplane food, props to SunExpress!) I had some hard times getting used to the +40 Degress and decided to not apply make up, wear pretty clothes or something tight at all. This dress was a little purchase from a market in Spain a few weeks ago, 100% cotton and no shape at all, but I loved the back detail and the no-bra freedom of this piece. Antalya was so beautiful and the dawn just gave the chills while watching. I cannot wait for the next trip to turkey!

Travel: Köprülü Kanyon Roadtrip Antalya

What a view, right? I took those pictures at the Körprülü Kanyon, in the northern Part of Antalya, approximately 90 km. It was a 2 hour ride from the city center - but it was worth it. The crystal clear, turquoise water is caused by the scale in the water, so - to be honest the shade of blue on the photos even doesn't describe a bit of the true color - its more amazing in real life. The trip up to the 400m deep valley was rocky and breathtaking. Not only because of the hot temperatures. What makes it special are the thousands of herbs growing on the cliffs. Thyme, Rosemary, and Sage are only a few of the edible Plants there. You can watch a rich Fauna of Dragonflies, Tortoises, Wild Horses and fish around the river. I am easy to please when it comes to nature, so it came naturally to me to be overwhelmed of joy and fascination the whole time. Rafting is something, that tourists really seem to enjoy in the river. It has an easy Level, so children and elderly people can easily handle this. I didn't do it, because 1. My camera and 2. My respect for the nature. If you want to find out about my route,  you can find a map here - or book your whole trip to Antalya here.

that typical "standing on a mountain dreaming" picture, thanks to my Friend Musti for taking it. (read the german text below and find my Route at the end!)

Allein wegen solcher Paradise, will man auf diesen schönen Planeten aufpassen.

Route from Antalya: Note - there are NO Busses, Trains or any other public transportation to Koprulu  Kanyon. You have to 1. Rent a car or 2. Take a Tour with a guide! I highly recommend the second one if its your first time in Antalya. There are plenty of roads to hike or to drive - not every road is as beautiful as the one we got with our Guides, if you want to check them out, you can book them here.

Food: Brunch in Berlin top 7

Brunch can be fun, if you get a spot in a calm restaurant on a sunday around noon, enjoy amazing food and beautiful interior. But It can also be pretty confusing if you live in Berlin and every second restaurant offers pouched eggs and low quality avocado toast for 5€ (which is a lot, for Berlin) and there is a whole brunch jungle, trying to trigger some tourists and being overcrowded on sundays. Thats why I want to introduce my top 7 spots for a Brunch in Berlin - with all pros and cons, prices and quality. + My personal "must try" when you're there. I swear, I know stuff about brunch.

Outfit: Linen Dress and Black Denim Jacket

Look at that caramel colored girl! Just came from holiday, looked amazing and healthy. Good thing about Berlin: Its so cloudy, even if the weather is warm that I lost all my tan already and am back to normal - we call it the " german summer" in the office, because you don't miss out on anything, the wet heath is everywhere anyway.. However, that linen dress is still a good thing - I already mentioned my passion for natural textures and especially linen is a bit of a climate change on your skin. Able to breath, yet thick enough to not rip apart when sitting on uncomfortable grounds. Linen is love. Also, the black denim Jacket saved me from multiple summer rains now. And will rock this combo through the summer - how do you currently survive the temperatures? (german text below)
shop the look:

Inspiration: A minimalist Home

Every time I visit Elisa and Anais at their perfectly minimal home, I come back amazed and jealous because their rooms are the most beautiful places ever- So well curated yet feeling like somebody really lives there, I enjoy stealing their inspirations. Haha - no, to be honest, I love how they styled the minimalistic perfection and think, even if some might say it looks pretty much alike, they both put so much of their personality in it, that you can tell which room is whose.
